In a space where a lot of leading rock bands is jostling for the top spot, Metallica with its unique flavor and fervor has managed to establish more than a niche for them.
With the latest hit answering to the name of Death Magnetic, the record industry has been taken by storm. In due course of time, a lot of players in this domain like Jessica Simpson, Young Jeezy, and Ne-You have spruced up with their challenge. Needless to say, however strong their challenge was, Metallica's Death Magnetic has surged way ahead in terms of popularity. Why even Demi Lovato, the Disney Channel star has failed to stop Death Magnetic steam rolling all records in this domain?
So, what really is the reason for the success of the Death Magnetic? Not only the Death Magnetic, you would find the riff engineers playing a critical part in shaping up the Metallica Album to the way it sounds to people. In the first three weeks after release, about 959,000 copies of the album had been sold. As per latest estimates, the sales figure has easily crosses 1.25 Million mark, and is looking good to touch the 2 Million mark. One of the best things to come out from these numbers is that these sales numbers have been reported from global sales, which goes to show the critical acclaim this album has won worldwide.
Most importantly, this album has a stamp of Metallica written all over it. Ask any Metallica lover what he loves most about the Metallica album, and he would tell you that the album is so much like any of the other albums he would have heard, yet being different. This combination has made people go absolutely nuts when they hear Metallica for the first time. Obviously, people who have heard Metallica before would not be surprised by what they hear. And you would also find newbie to the Metallica fold, absolutely freaking out with the earphones on!
For now, Metallica's Death Magnetic is number one in the records industry. Looking at the competition it faces, it has to be said that the Magnetic has done admirably well. One thing is for sure though - You cannot find any competing album coming close to matching the achievements of the Death Magnetic. And while the whole world looks on, maybe only some other Metallica album could match what the Magnetic has done!
