Discovered: Jessica Simpson began her singing career as part of her church choir. While at church camp she was discovered by the head of a tiny CCM label, but the label folded before the record could be released.
Jessica went on to perform at Christian Youth Conferences before signing to Sony.
Resume: Jessica Simpson began expanding her career by touring with 98' - which also lead her to her husband, Nick Lachey.
She released her debut album, Sweet Kisses, in 1999. The song "I Wanna Love You Forever." sent her into the spotlight. Her second album Irresistible, in 2001, did well but didn't gain the attention that the first album gained.
A year later, Jessica married Nick Lachey, and also starred along with Lachey in the MTV hit the Newlyweds. The show propelled Jessica Simpson into stardom with the candid moments of their first year of marriage.
